Discovery looks to evolve into an innovative, open community moderated editorial environment. (Wikipedia-esque) The feature exists to platform content about shared causes that users would like for the wider community to see. Discovery presents an opportunity for those who create the content to be heard and grow their platform on ETHOS by reaching individuals who are genuinely engaged with their content.
Posts that makes it onto Discovery include content that exemplifies characteristics of high quality discourse – it presents points in a constructive way, inviting people to be able to engage and continue the conversation. It is not about what the content says as much as it is about how the content view is presented and the the structure and validity of the text that backs it up.
Discovery is a space for people to talk, and the editorial process is optimised to invite quality discussions above all. We have no bearing over the topics of such discussions or any of the standings and points of view. For as long as it abides with our community guidelines, discovery editorial processes will focus only on these outlined factors.
At this early stage the Discovery review process is managed by a handful of the members of the ETHOS community who are most active. This includes members of the ETHOS team. As we scale, active members of the community will continue to be invited as the process evolves to adapt for a more complex, but consequently more accurate, review process.
We believe in providing open forums for discussions and creating an environment on social media where people who wish to put work into discourse and discussions that they care about can join in.
Ask yourself:
Does this content contribute in a positive way to the wider community?
Have I stayed on-topic? We want this to be a space for thoughtful discussion, not spam.
Have I checked the truth behind the information I am including?
Am I being kind? Respect one other’s perspectives and life experiences in your conversations, and refrain from cruel or derogatory language.
Criticizing ETHOS is fair game. We welcome and value critiques of ETHOS and its policies (as long as you keep the language civil).
